Information on Paediatrics and Inborn Errors of Metabolism
Paediatrics is the medical discipline dedicated to the fostering of normal health, nutrition, behaviour, growth and development of children.

Dr. Anthony S. Luder has been the director of the Department of Paediatrics and Genetics Service, Sieff Hospital, Safed since 1992, and has dual specialty qualifications in Paediatrics and in Medical Genetics.
Dr. Luder is a Senior Lecturer in Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Technion, Haifa. He is a senior examiner for the Israel Medical Association Scientific Council specialty boards, and has given specialty-exam courses to residents for many years. He is active in pre-clinical and clinical student education, medical ethics, as well as the development of tele-medicine technology in medical education and practice. Dr. Luder serves as a senior paediatric consultant for most of the health insurance organizations in northern Israel, and for the Israel Centre for Childbirth and Breastfeeding Education.
Dr. Luder is a past national committee member of the Israel Clinical Paediatrics Society, a current member of the Ethics Committee of the Israel Medical Genetics Association, and chairman of the Institutional Review (Helsinki) Committee of Sieff Hospital. He is the co-ordinator for the Jewish Agency's Medical Partnership 2000 program with Jewish communities in Florida, USA. Dr. Luder is an active member of the Society for the Study of Inborn Errors of Metabolism (SSIEM).
Dr. Luder's main clinical interests include the integration of hospital and community based paediatric care and the planning of future paediatric services. His specialty interests focus on genetic metabolic disease and inborn errors of metabolism, general medical genetics and genetic counselling, cancer genetics and pre-natal counselling.

Dr. Anthony S. Luder is a B.Sc. and medical graduate with honours of the University of London.
He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom, holds specialty qualifications in paediatics in the UK and Israel and is board-licensed in Medical Genetics in the United States and Israel.
Dr. Luder trained in paediatrics in London, at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and in Haifa; and in Medical Genetics at the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Luder's research interests include the Carbohydrate-Deficient Glycoprotein Syndrome, Foetal Cells in Maternal Blood, and Clinical Paediatrics. He has published widely in Israeli and international journals and makes frequent contributions to professional meetings and fora.
